Do the actions of others affect your liberty? Can you or I turn a blind eye to evil without repercussions?
Anciently, Israel received a strict command from God regarding the sacrifice of children to the fire god Molech. In Leviticus 20:2-3, we read “whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.”
The Lord set up a stark penalty for apathy should the worship of Molech ever take root in the nation:
“. . .if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not: Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.” (Leviticus 20:4-5).”
The curse of this broken covenant came to fulfillment when Assyria conquered the Israelite nation and carried away captive the ten tribes of Israel. The entire population was cut off from God’s blessings: man, family, community, nation:
“And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger. Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only” (2 Kings 17:17).
If you lived in Ancient Israel, what kind of person would you have been? Would you have turned your mind from seeing the smoke of burning idols so that it didn’t even register in your brain? Would you simply look out the window and wonder if the smoke in the air came from a forest fire in Lebanon? Would you stop your eyes and plug your ears as you rushed on by the place of sacrifice assuaging yourself with “Well, what can I do about it? I’m just one person.” Or instead, being so busy with your daily tasks, would you even notice the screams of the innocent children placed in the raging metal hand funnels of molten idols? Perhaps you would gather your little ones around you and think, “I’m so glad I’m not that kind of mother.” Or just maybe you would fight it tooth and nail in hopes of influencing the actions of others around you?
Today Molech reigns again and is worshipped by men and women in the form of Planned Parenthood. If you have ignored the smoke from this sacrifice of our nation’s children, I urge you to view the following speech by Senator Mike Lee: http://www.lee.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/speeches?ID=d0f59a00-b23e-452c-a2f1-789b408ed0c2
Get informed. Take action. Yes. The actions of others do and will affect your liberty. If we fail to throw down this consummate evil, how can we stand as a nation under God? Assyria will repeat its scattering of Israel once more. For ideas on how you can help save our children, please visit and share my blog themotherofallliving@blogspot.com.
