Hi my dear friends & family--
I've had 3 days of drs appt for my little baby. Currently I'm 30 weeks along in my pregnancy. The baby has fluid around its lungs, and my amniotic fluids are double what they should be. The current diagnosis: plueral effusion due to fetal anemia. I have to go back tomorrow for more tests and a possible blood transfusion for the baby on Friday based on that testing. I've been given steroids to develop the baby's lungs in case of emergency delivery on Friday or beyond as a result of transfusion procedures.
I think it is so important to exercise faith muscles--to do all in my power to call down the powers of heaven. I've just had a wonderful priesthood blessing from our home teachers. In addition, I'm asking that you pray for this little child as well, that our united faith and power may increase the power available for miracles and for understanding of the Lord's will.
Specifically, I'm praying that the transfusion won't have to take place as it is risky. Additionally, I'm praying that the doctors will know the cause behind the anemia and how to help stop the baby's blood from leaking. I'm also praying that the baby will make it full term; and that the anemia will resolve without risky intervention.
I trust the Lord's will and the lessons our family needs to learn from this experience regardless of the outcome; but I also know there is wondrous power from the Savior available to us for what we need if we will but ask for it. So I am asking that you join with me in the asking. Thank you for your prayers and faith exercised in behalf of this tiny child. I know you may wish to do more; at this point, in gratitude, this is all I need.
I send my love and gratitude to each of you,
Desi
